B-FADE

Raised in the heart of Oakland California, B-Fade wasn’t immune to the many temptations the streets presented to him. In the early 90’s, he became the product of his environment. His bondage began in the streets—selling drugs, doing drugs, chasing women and living life on the edge. He was incarcerated for two years, for an assault with a deadly weapon on another male. B-Fade began to realize the damage that he was doing to himself and others. His time in prison brought him to the conclusion he needed to change his lifestyle. He tried to cease his involvement with drugs and alcohol by focusing on his secular music. Music became his way of escape from the street life, or so he thought.

B-Fade began recording with secular artists and made appearances on many secular compilations and albums. Although this was his avenue off the streets, he soon discovered the darker side involved with the secular music industry, which was a new kind of evil for him. Being exposed to more drugs and violence, the industry proved simply that it was no different from the street life that he thought he had escaped from. In fact, it made things much worse and intensified his sinful lifestyle.

One day while selling his music, he ran into two former gangster rappers known as GC and Agerman. They were selling their Christian rap cd’s and B-Fade decided to purchase a copy from each one of them. After hearing their song, “Who you With”, he stood in awe at how Agerman had gave his life to God and was rapping for Jesus. “I would hear Agerman on the radio and would be drinking and smoking with him in the studio when he was a secular rapper, and I was shocked to see this same guy drop all of that for God,” says B-Fade. Several months later after trying to live better but still feeling a void in his life, B-Fade’s friend reached out to Minister Derrick Mann, whom invited them to a bible study. B-Fade and his friend Keith(Coz) began having bible studies with Derrick everyday and shortly after they were attending church three times a week hearing the life changing word of God. A few weeks later, B-Fade began experiencing several massive panic attacks and in the beginning of the summer of 2002, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized in the name of Jesus.

A year later, God made room for B-Fades’s gift in music with the sole purpose of spreading the gospel, Matthew 28:18-20. He is continually being trained in sound doctrine with a solid foundation in his current church home with his first ministry as a husband and a father to four beautiful daughters. B-Fade has become an X-factor to the world in the positive sense where he is no longer a product of his environment and no longer captivated by the bondage that once held him hostage. He is known as a “MAN ON FIRE!” and through the lyrics in his songs, it’s evident he has a burning desire for others to know the God who transformed him. Now his name speaks for who he truly is, B-Fade(Be Faithful and Dedicated Everyday).
